Young Player Leaves the NHL

Another young player in the NHL has chosen to pursue his career in Europe after a few disappointing years in North America.

Denis Malgin has announced that he is going back home to play in the Swiss League with the ZSC Lions.

Back in 2021, he signed a four-year deal with the Lions but left the final three seasons on the table to join the NHL.

Now, he has inked a five-year contract.

According to Kyle Cushman:

"Denis Malgin signed a 5-year contract with the ZSC Lions today to return to the Swiss league.

Malgin had signed a 4-year deal with the team in 2021 but left the final 3 seasons on the table to come back to the NHL this past season."

Last year, he played for the Maple Leafs and the Avalanche, scoring 21 points in 65 games.

In total, he has taken part in 257 NHL games and scored 81 points with the Panthers, the Leafs, and the Avs.
