Two Eastern Conference rivals are close to completing a blockbuster trade.

DeBrusk To Isles In The Works

It is reported that the Boston Bruins are currently working on a trade with the New York Islanders to send star forward Jake DeBrusk to New York. After the Islanders missed out on acquiring Alex DeBrincat from the Ottawa Senators, they now focus their attention towards the gritty young forward in Boston as a backup.

After the Islanders have been faced with numerous seasons of coming up short, they are desperately looking to improve their offensive core, and the addition of DeBrusk would do just that.

Islanders Offering Pageau In Return

After the package including Jean-Gabriel Pageau was declined by the Senators in the talks for DeBrincat, the Islanders are planning on using Pageau once again as a key asset in an offer for a key addition. Pageau was also included with Oliver Wahlstrom on the supposed offer sent to Ottawa, so it is indeed possible that Wahlstrom gets offered up again.

As these talks continue to increase, we will see if the Bruins decide to take up this offer and move on from DeBrusk, and if the Islanders can move one step forward in the process of getting back to playoff performers.
