The Chicago Blackhawks might have found their next superstar at the draft by selecting Connor Bedard with the first overall pick.

This couldn't have come at a better time for the Blackhawks organization, which lost its two best players last season.

Patrick Kane was traded to the New York Rangers, and the management announced that Jonathan Toews' journey in Chicago would end with the expiration of his contract on July 1st.

It was announced that one of them won't sign a contract this summer.

End of a Legend?

The more you look at it, the more it appears to be the end for Jonathan Toews.

His health issues have never really gone away, he's aging, and the Hawks announced that they weren't planning on re-signing him. If he wants to retire as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks, he has to do it now.

A big revelation caused quite a stir on social media.

Here's what Sportsnet's Mark Spector said:

"Word is Toews won't play next season. When his agency sent out its list of pending free agents, we were told his name was not even on the list."

It's confirmed that Toews is retiring. If his name wasn't even on the list of free agents, that means he's not a free agent. If he's not a free agent and doesn't have a contract, what does that make him?

Do you think Toews played his last NHL game?
