Rival Goaltenders Caught Doing a Unique Workout
Igor Shesterkin and Ilya Sorokin have been caught doing a hilarious workout.
Dominant Russian Goaltenders
Ilya Sorokin and Igor Shesterkin are two of the most premier goaltenders in the NHL. Both drafted in 2014, Ilya 78th overall and Igor 118th, they have developed a tight relationship off of the ice.
On the ice, they are arch rivals playing for the New York Rangers and New York Islanders respectively.
Both are absolutely dominant goaltenders with Sorokin posting a .924 sv% and a 2.34 GAA and Shesterkin posting a .916 sv% and 2.48 GAA. While Shesterkin's numbers may not be as eye popping as Sorokin's, Shesterkin won the Vezina trophy last year having one of the best seasons in recent memory.
Their Unique Workout
The two goalies were caught doing some off season training together that looks straight out of a Disney movie.
The two can be seen pushing a BMW down the road which looks more like a workout from a high school football team and not two Vezina caliber NHL goaltenders.
It is nice to see the two get some work in despite their on ice rivalry and it goes to show how tightknit of a community the NHL is.
