With development camp underway for numerous teams, one top prospect has identified a 2nd round pick as the next Cale Makar.

Hutson and Reinbacher

The Montreal Canadiens are currently hosting their development camp for their top prospects. Of the invitees, 2023 5th overall pick David Reinbacher and 2022 62nd overall pick Lane Hutson are in attendance.
Hutson is one of the most intriguing prospects in all of hockey right now coming off a 48 point season in 39 games as a freshman defenseman in the NCAA.
Reinbacher was drafted 5th overall this year and has a lot of hates despite being a very strong prospect in his own right.
With Montreal's training camp underway, the two have gotten familiar with each other being paired together. While only playing together for a short while, they have already developed some fantastic chemistry.

Reinbacher's Praise

Reinbacher has some high praise for Hutson despite only playing together a few times.
«Lane (Hutson) is probably the next Cale Makar» -Reinbacher who says he sees himself giving him the puck and watching him go into the future

Hutson and Makar have a very similar skill set in terms of puck handling and mobility. Despite Hutson being a second rounder in 2022, he is already solidifying himself as a player who should have gone top 10.
In his draft year, he was 5'8" but he has since grown a few inches. One scout even said that if he was 6' he would have been in contention for 1st overall in 2022.
