Bogdan Konyushkov was considered a late round gem but he has put his NHL arrival on hold after signing a three year extension in Russia.

Konyushkov Signs In Russia

Bogdan Konyushkov was one of the most unknown propsects selected in the 2023 NHL draft but that did not stop him from being one of the best picks. At 110th overall, the Montreal Canadiens scooped him up.
Konyushkov was a finalist for KHL rookie of the year after playing top pairing minutes as a 20 year old. The Canadiens took a swing on the double over-ager but will have to wait a few years to see if he will ever come over.
This has come to the disappoint of Montreal fans as Konyushkov was considered to be one of their best draft picks in all of 2023.
Apparently, some NHL scouting departments had him in their top 50 so to get him at 110 is incredible value.
Here is a thread of his play dissected by a scout.
If Konyushkov can continue to build off of his strong play, we could expect to see him make the NHL after his contract expires. This is a player Montreal fans should be excited about despite his ties to Russia.
