It has been a disappointing end of the season for the Boston Bruins.

After a historic year, the club based in Massachusetts was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the 8th seed Florida Panthers in 7 games - the Bruins led the series 3-1.
The problem here is that it was probably the last chance of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci to win a Cup. We all saw the images after game 7: the Bruins captain was hugged by all of his teammates, which could indicate that the end is near for him.

Bruins GM Makes a Worrying Statement on Bergeron's Future

Even though a decision hasn't been made yet by Bergeron, Bruins GM Don Sweeney had this to say about Bergeron's future...
«We still have to hear a final word from David Krejci and Patrice Bergeron. We'll keep our fingers crossed.» - Don Sweeney

What's next for the Bruins?

If Bergeron and Krejci decide to stop their career, the Bruins will be in a difficult spot. They already lost Taylor Hall, who was excellent during the playoffs. Furthermore, the core of this team isn't young.

Sweeney will have to add some quality centers to that group in order for the team to continue to be a Stanley Cup contender.
This season, Patrice Bergeron registered 58 points in 78 games.
