Matthew Tkachuk was considered by many to be this year's MVP of the playoffs.

He scored crucial goals, and if it weren't for him, the Panthers might not have advanced past the first round. If Florida had won the Stanley Cup, he would undoubtedly have won the Conn Smythe Trophy.
Unfortunately for the Panthers, Tkachuk was injured in the second game of the finals. A worrying update was just published, and we can understand why he didn't play much in the last period of game four and missed the entire game five.

Tkachuk Played Through a Broken Sternum

If you were wondering why Tkachuk wasn't as good in the last few games, you have quite a good explanation.
He played two games with a broken sternum.
"Matthew Tkachuk suffered a broken sternum and played through it in games 3 & 4, but the pain was so unbearable he was shut down for game 5.

He couldn't sit up on his own, and his brother had to help him out of bed and get ready for the game."

"He couldn't dress himself for the game. Somebody helped him get his gear on. Somebody helped him tie his skates."
This is what a true leader does. He pushed his limits and didn't give up until it was too much.
Tkachuk's acquisition by the Panthers will certainly be remembered as one of the best trades in recent history.
