Patrick Roy has stepped down as head coach of the Memorial Cup Champion Quebec Remparts but this gamble may not pay off.

Roy's Disappointing NHL Return

Patrick Roy has been developing his coaching repertoire since leaving the NHL back in 2016. He has since been the GM and head coach of the Quebec Remparts who just won the Memorial Cup.

He recently stepped down from his positions with the Remparts and many speculated that he did so because an NHL team was ready to hire him and he would return but this does not seem to be the case.

When asked if any NHL teams reached out to him, Roy was quick to shut down any rumors.

"Absolutely none" - Patrick Roy on if any NHL teams reached out to him

Roy brought in former NHLer Simon Gagne to be his replacement as head coach. This could be the end of Roy's coaching career as he is 57 and may finally step away from the game he played since he was a kid.
