While the ink hasn't been put to paper yet, the latest report says the Buffalo Sabres are set to make Rasmus Dahlin a very rich player.

Dahlin Currently

The 23-year-old Swedish defenceman still has one year left on a three-year deal he had signed that carried a cap hit of $6 million. Buffalo-based reporter Chad DeDominicis believes Dahlin's next deal has been drawn up. It get him up to $10 million per season for the maximum length of eight years.

Huge Money

An $80 million contract is a sure sign of the Sabres belief in the former first overall pick. The annual cap hit, if signed right now, would make Dahlin the third highest paid blueliner in the NHL, behind only Erik Karlsson and Drew Doughty. Dahlin pulled off an elite season on the backend in 2022-23, finishing the year with 73 points (15 goals, 58 assists).
