The Carolina Hurricanes may be getting a major boost in their third round series against the Florida Panthers. Teuvo Teravainen, who has not played since the second game of the first round against the New York Islanders, returned to practice today in a full-contact jersey and appears to be ready to go.

After the practice, Teravainen told reporters he thought he was done for the playoffs, and credited doctors for the speedy recovery.
"I thought for sure I was done, but the doctors did a pretty good job and it looks like I'm getting back pretty soon, so that's pretty awesome."

Teravainen's estimated recovery time was 4 to 8 weeks. It's been just over 4 since the incident happened.

The Slash

Teravainen's broken hand came courtesy of Jean-Gabriel Pageau. There was no call on the play and no supplemental discipline for Pageau. The Hurricanes would ultimately get the last laugh, eliminating the New York Islanders in six games.
