Today Elliotte Freidman revealed some shocking news about Kyle Dubas' future.

With the Penguins trying to get Dubas, it can be seen that Dubas does have a future career in the NHL if it is not with the Leafs. This attention league-wide may be a good thing for Dubas in the near future because it could result in the Leafs keeping him around for the foreseeable future.

The Toronto core also likes Dubas so the pressure of Pittsburgh trying to poach Dubas may result in Leafs ownership panicking and extending him prematurely.

At the end of the day, Kyle Dubas has earned his position as an NHL GM and is fit for the role even if that role is not in Toronto.
