Auston Matthews, while as talented as he is, has always managed to cause quite the stir in Toronto. His latest antics may have just cost the Leafs their season.

Matthews' Stand Against the NHL Has Proved Costly

By now most of you are aware of the controversial no-goal call in Toronto last night, which saw the puck clearly cross the goal line. Despite the clear evidence pointing towards a goal, no goal was called on the play, and the Leafs didn't tie the game.
If you think back to the beginning of the season, you might remember when the league was pushing for puck-tracking technology to be put in all game pucks. This would allow the NHL to track a variety of things, but also detect when a puck completely crossed the goal line.
Auston Matthews was one of the players vehemently against this change, citing the weight change of the pucks as a cause for concern. For a player as well known for his shot as Matthews, this concern is understandable.
That being said, had there been puck tracking tech in the puck last night, a goal could've been detected on the controversial non-goal call, and we could've seen a game six.
