Grant McCagg is a former scout of the Montreal Canadiens, and the current owner of the Recrutes scouting service. He's best known for his controversial takes on Twitter, and his often heated exchanges with fans who disagree with him. Today, he took to Twitter to share his outlandish proposal that would aim to prevent tanking in the NHL.

Win for Bedard?

Yeah, we don't really get it either. McCagg's proposal states that the bottom eight teams in the standings at the end of the year should compete in a round robin tournament, with the winner receiving the 1st overall pick, and the runner-up receiving the 2nd overall pick.

You know what may eliminate NHL tanking altogether? The bottom eight teams play a round robin tournament after the season. Two groups of four based on seeding, the finalists get the top two picks, the winner gets #1. Not just rewarding the worst...it actually has to be earned.

Not only would this get laughed at if you brought it to the NHL for a serious proposal, but it also makes zero sense. The players on bottom teams aren't trying to lose to begin with, and oftentimes don't care about getting a high draft pick to begin with.

Hopefully for Grant's sake, he realizes the stupidity in this.
