With his team getting a big win last night to tie their second round series with the Seattle Kraken at one game each, Dallas Stars head coach Peter DeBoer was fired up.

19 year old Wyatt Johnston had a goal and an assist for the Stars. When DeBoer was asked about the rookie's contribution following the game, he went off on the NHL's Awards Selection Committee.
"First off, I'm going to go on a little tangent. I can't understand why he's not nominated for the Calder. 24 goals in the regular season and what he's done."

DeBoer wasn't done there. He feels another member of his team should be up for an award.
"And how is Miro Heiskanen not nominated for the Norris?"

The nominees for the Calder this year are Edmonton's Stuart Skinner, Seattle's Matty Beniers, and Owen Power of the Buffalo Sabres. As for the Norris, it's Adam Fox of the New York Rangers, Erik Karlsson of San Jose, and Colorado's Cale Makar.
Johnston was the 1st round pick of the Stars, 23rd overall, in 2021. He has two goals and two assists in 8 playoff games for Dallas so far.
