KHL Star to Make Triumphant Return to the NHL
There were high hopes for Vladimir Tkachev when he signed as a free agent in LA in 2021. After a brilliant AHL campaign, he decided to return to Russia.
He's now decided to make his return.
Tkachev Seeking NHL Deal
When Vladimir Tkachev signed in LA, things looked to have a clear direction. One fantastic season in the AHL would be followed up by what would hopefully be a long-term NHL roster spot. Unfortunately, Avangard Omsk of the KHL offered Tkachev too much money to turn down for this campaign, and he opted to return home.
Now, per his agent, Shumi Babaev, Tkachev is not satisfied with their extension offer, and the 27-year-old is now committed to finding an NHL contract once again.
We are not satisfied with Avangard Omsk offer on new contract for Vladimir Tkachev. Our goal number one for now is to sign contract in NHL. I started to talk to some NHL clubs already.
There are most likely many teams interested in signing the winger, who's nearly a point-per-game in the KHL.
We will see where Tkachev ends up, but it is safe to say his next NHL stint will be longer than his last.
