During a game in the American Hockey League between the Charlotte Checkers and the Providence Bruins, former NHL veteran Mike Reilly suffered a scary injury as he crashed violently into the end boards in the middle of the third period.

Reilly, who was defending against a Charlotte forward, had successfully poked checked the puck away but lost his balance and collided hard into the boards. He remained motionless on the ice as other players immediately called for medical attention.

The incident is a reminder of the risks involved in contact sports like ice hockey, where players move at high speeds and battle for position.

Despite these risks, it is fortunate that such serious injuries don't occur more frequently. Hopefully, Reilly will receive the necessary medical attention and make a full recovery from this scary moment.

Reilly has played in thirty-four games for Providence and ten games for the Boston Bruins this season.

Fortunately, according to Mark Allred, Reilly appears to be okay after the incident, which is a relief for everyone involved.
