Department of player safety to have hearing with Kings Blake Lizotte

The Department of Player Safety in the National Hockey League has been particularly active this season, issuing numerous suspensions to players.

In the latest announcement, it was revealed that Blake Lizotte, a forward for the Los Angeles Kings, would face a hearing regarding his actions in the previous night's game against the Winnipeg Jets.

Lizotte cross-checked Josh Morrissey, a key defender for the Jets, in the head. The incident occurred in the second period, resulting in Lizotte being handed a 5-minute major penalty and a game misconduct.

Given that similar actions earlier in the season resulted in suspensions of 1-2 games, it is reasonable to assume that Lizotte will face similar discipline. However, given the Department of Player Safety's lack of consistency in such matters, it remains to be seen what his punishment will be.
