Today the NHL and Arizona Coyotes received bad news. According to sources Arizona Coyotes minority owner Andrew Barroway was arrested and charged with a felony.

The NHL issued the following statement:

The National Hockey League today issued the following statement regarding Arizona Coyotes' minority owner Andrew Barroway:

"The National Hockey League is aware of the arrest of Arizona Coyotes' minority owner Andrew Barroway. Pending further information, he has been suspended indefinitely."

According to the Aspen Daily, Barroway faces a charge of felony strangulation. This is a very significant accusation and could cause issues for the Coyotes. When the Coyotes agreed to their deal with Arizona State University it came with a good behaviour clause.

According to the document, if the Coyotes or Meruelo become the subject of adverse publicity, contempt, scandal or ridicule for violating «widely held principles of public morality, failing to conduct its business affairs with a high degree of integrity and honesty and/or failing to act as a good corporate citizen,» Arizona State can get out of its deal with the Coyotes.

This is just another black eye on the Arizona franchise and could cause significant issues for the Coyotes.
