Quinn Hughes has never been one to hide his feelings.

An animated fellow, Hughes has shown time and time again his feelings on the state of affairs in Vancouver. Generally speaking, the last couple of seasons have not been positive - at all, really.

But some folks out there believe he could be doing more for his team. Which - frankly - is laughable. Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson are the only two players who are objectively good at their jobs. So, he let his pundits have a piece of his mind.

"Anyone who says I'm a defensive liability, frankly, hasn't watched the games."

In a vacuum, one could say that Quinn Hughes' defensive metrics aren't the best, but to those folks I would retort with two points:

- his teammates drag down his numbers, and
- in order to generate his level of offense, risks need to be taken

Ipso facto, any beef with his defensive play isn't totally warranted. Not to say he is completely innocent of any blunders in his own zone, but generally speaking Hughes is not the problem on the Vancouver Canucks, I think we could all agree.
