Toronto Police sent out a media release on Friday morning to announce that they've arrested and charged two men in connection to a May 2022 armed carjacking of Maple Leafs star forward Mitch Marner.

The pair were arrested on Wednesday following a search warrant by the 'Hold Up Squad', which found "items of evidentiary value related to the investigation."

Christon Arman Johnson, 24, of Brampton, and Anas Adan Farah, 21, of Toronto, are facing a combined nine charges in relation to two separate carjacking's, including the one with Mitch Marner.

Arman Johnson has been charged with two counts each of robbery with a firearm, disguise with intent and failure to comply with bail conditions, while Adan Farah has been charged with robbery with a firearm and disguise with intent.

The incident occurred in May of last year while Marner and another person were getting into his 2021 Land Rover in the parking lot of a Cineplex movie theatre in Etobicoke. Arman Johnson and Adan Farah, both of whom had handguns, demanded Marner give them the keys to his vehicle, while a third suspect that Toronto Police are still looking for, demanded a cell phone from the other person Marner was with.

The Maple Leafs forward's Land Rover was eventually recovered by Toronto Police.
