The Minnesota Wild announced on Monday that they've agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract, beginning next season, with defensive prospect David Spacek. According to CapFriendly, Spacek's contract is worth $2.587 million ($862,500 AAV).

Spacek, 20, was selected by the Wild in the fifth round (153rd overall) in 2022 NHL Entry Draft. His father, Jaroslav, spent parts of 13 seasons in the NHL, reaching the Stanley Cup Final with Edmonton in 2006.

The Columbus native is currently playing in the QMJHL with the Sherbrooke Phoenix, where he has 46 points in 49 games and is on pace to surpass his career-high of 50 points he set last season.

Spacek was a standout on Czechia's 2023 World Junior team, helping them to their first medal, silver, since 2005, while putting up eight points in seven games.
