The NHL's best team, the Boston Bruins, made some key moves ahead of March 3rd's deadline, bringing in Garnet Hathaway and Dmitry Orlov from Washington, as well as Tyler Bertuzzi from Detroit.

In Bertuzzi and Hathaway, the Bruins get a pair of gritty forwards that will be relied on quite a bit, not only down the stretch, but in the playoffs too to try and wear down the opposing team.

But according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, one rumour he heard floating around last week was the possibility of the Bruins looking at bringing back fan favourite Milan Lucic from the Calgary Flames.

"The wildest one I actually heard, and it obviously didn't happen, was Lucic and Boston, about the possibility of him going and having one last ride with the Bruins. I don't know if it even happened. Someone said to me they heard that rumour, but I don't know if that even happened." Friedman said.

Lucic, 34, is in the final year of his contract and is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. It's unclear at this time what Lucic's plans are for beyond the 2022-23 season, as his current focus is obviously on trying to help the Flames make the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but it would be interesting to see if the Bruins circle back in the summer about bringing him in for one final season.

The Vancouver native was drafted by Boston in 2006 and spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Bruins, helping them to two appearances in the Stanley Cup Final, winning in 2011 and losing to Chicago in 2013.
