Jakob Chychrun had a difficult February to say the least.

The star blue-liner was forced to sit out for nine straight games due to "trade related reasons" according to the Arizona Coyotes. Chychrun was finally traded ahead of the NHL's Trade Deadline, and it's safe to say he and his family are happy about it.

Ottawa Senators head coach DJ Smith spoke a little about the trade on Friday and was generous enough to let Chychrun's grandfather - John - hang around the team's facilities all day on Saturday. Just one of many angles in which the trade benefits the newest Senator.

Chychrun scored a goal and an assist in his first game in Ottawa, as the team secured a 5-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets. During intermission, Chychrun gave an interview and got teary-eyed when asked about what this trade meant to him:

His emotional response probably has more to do with him being close to family, but something needs to be said about finally getting out of Arizona. Nothing against the state; beautiful landscapes and favorable tax codes.

The hockey team, however...different story altogether.

The marriage between Chychrun and Ottawa feels like a match made in heaven. They needed a stud defender, he needed a new team, and the Senators now have a great core of players - at least for the next couple of seasons.

Watch out for those pesky Sens!
