As the weeks wind down leading up to the NHL's trade deadline, the rumour mill is going to be very active and among the names that you'll hear about more as we inch closer to March 3rd is Detroit Red Wings forward Tyler Bertuzzi.

According to Sportsnet's Jeff Marek, the Dallas Stars, Edmonton Oilers and the Tampa Bay Lightning have expressed interest in Bertuzzi. He added that the connection between Stars GM Jim Nill and Steve Yzerman could help Dallas get the top-six forward that they're reportedly on the look out for.
"There's a few teams that have been attached to this name - the Dallas Stars, we all know the relationship between Jim Nill and Steve Yzerman. We suspect that Dallas is looking for someone to play full-time with Tyler Seguin. Don't be surprised if they step up their efforts to try to bring Tyler Bertuzzi in. I believe Detroit is asking for something substantial.

Edmonton has had some interest in Tyler Bertuzzi and I believe the Tampa Bay Lightning as well." Marek said.

Bertuzzi, a native of Sudbury (Ontario), is in the final year of a two-year deal he signed with Detroit back in 2021 that carries a $4.75 million AAV. He's set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
The 27-year-old has only appeared in 20 games this season due to a pair of hand injuries that cause him to miss significant time. In those 20 games, Bertuzzi has seven points (two goals, five assists), six penalty minutes and is a minus-nine.
