One week ago, the Vancouver Canucks made the biggest splash on the trade market this season, moving captain Bo Horvat to the New York Islanders for Anthony Beauvillier, Aatu Raty and a conditional 2023 first-round pick.

Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin has no signs of slowing down when it comes to retooling his roster and according to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, trade talks surrounding forward Brock Boeser are beginning to heat up.

"Some information coming out of All-Star Weekend is that (the Canucks are) very much engaged in trade talks involving Brock Boeser. It sounds like that is progressing," Pagnotta said. "The last time we were told something was coming was 'sooner than later' and it ended up being three days. I don't think it's going to be that quick. I still believe there's a little bit of work to do with respect to his future, but there are definitely conversations, they're heating up."

Boeser, 25, is in the first year of a three-year contract he signed back last summer, which sees him earn $6.65 million. In 41 games this season, the Burnsville (Minnesota) native has 30 points (nine goals, 21 assists), 14 penalty minutes and is a minus-13.

Pagnotta went on to add that among the teams that have expressed interest in Brock Boeser are the Minnesota Wild, New Jersey Devils and Washington Capitals. But for cap reasons, the Canucks may either have to retain a portion of Boeser's salary or take back another contract.
