It's tough to lose a loved one. It's even tougher when that loved one's name gets dragged through the mud on social media immediately after their death is announced. It appears Jude Hull, the grandson of hockey legend Bobby Hull, had had enough Monday after learning of his grandfather's death and then logging into his social media account and seeing several tweets disparaging his grandfather's name.

"You're allowed to have whatever opinion you want of my Grandfather and his past," said Hull on Twitter. "To air it all out not 12 hours after he passed makes me want to puke. I hope those tweets help you sleep better at night."

There is no questioning Bobby Hull's legacy as a hockey player. "The Golden Jet" is widely considered one of the greatest players of all time. However, Hull has a troubling past. He was accused of domestic abuse by two of three long-term partners. He allegedly attacked a police officer responding to a call at his house. And then there were remarks allegedly made to the Moscow Times in 1998.

"Hitler, for example, had some good ideas. He just went a little bit too far," Hull allegedly said.

He denied making those remarks and threatened to sue the Moscow Times and the Toronto Sun for printing them. Nothing ever came of the lawsuit.

Jude Hull is the son of Brett Hull, who, of course, had his own storied career in the NHL.
