As first reported by Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, the Boston Bruins have signed forward Pavel Zacha to a four-year, $19 million extension which will carry an average annual value (AAV) of $4.75 million.

Zacha, 25, is in his first season with the Bruins after being acquired in an offseason trade which saw Erik Haula head to the New Jersey Devils. Zacha mainly disappointed with the Devils after being selected sixth overall in 2015, but is really thriving with the change of scenery on what is a dominant Bruins team. In 42 games, he has scored five goals and 25 points while also providing plenty of physicality as well as solid defensive play.

This extension doesn't come as a major surprise, as Zacha has been very vocal about how much he has enjoyed his short time in Boston, while head coach Jim Montgomery has raved about his play several times this season. At 25, there is still reason to believe he has even more room to grow as a player, which could explain the AAV, which does seem a little high right now despite the solid season he is having.
