During the '32 Thoughts' segment on Hockey Night in Canada, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that the Tampa Bay Lightning are interested in bringing back former defenceman Luke Schenn, who currently plays for the Vancouver Canucks.

"I'll start with Schenn. Because, where did Schenn win two Stanley Cups, Ron? Tampa. That's right, the Tampa Bay Lightning, he was a two-time Stanley Cup champion with them and I believe they are interested again. I wouldn't be surprised if they make a pitch for his services and I think they're a legit contender to get him" Friedman said.

Schenn, 33, is in his second year with the Vancouver Canucks and has put up 14 points (two goals, 12 assists), 58 penalty minutes and is a plus-five in 42 games.

The Saskatoon native is in the final year of a two-year deal he signed with Vancouver in 2021, with a cap hit of $850,000. In terms of value pieces on the market, this should be something not only Tampa Bay looks at, but other contenders as well.
