Despite the much raised awareness in recent years, mental health continues to be something many struggle with, and Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is the latest athlete to do what he can to help.

The 29-year-old netminder recently partnered with Thom Van Dycke and co-authored a children's book to help Manitoba children's mental health. The message, as per TSN's Darren Dreger, is to find a trusted grown up to speak with when feeling said or «blue», as the character in the book titled 'Bucky Beats the Blues' does.

On the cover of 'Bucky Beats the Blues' happens to be a framed jersey of Rick Rypien's, a former NHLer who took his own life in August of 2011. That, along with all other suicides, are one of life's most tragic tales, making it excellent that Hellebucyk is stepping up to help in any way he can. Given his major platform, especially throughout the province of Manitoba, this should do plenty in helping those out who are struggling.
