The Vancouver Canucks have launched an official investigation into Tanner Pearson's injury and the club's handling of the rehabilitation process. News broke on Friday that Pearson is dealing with an infection, and his injury could sideline him for the entire 2023-24 season as well, according to Rick Dhaliwal.

It would appear as though Quinn Hughes' comment on the matter had a significant impact on Canucks' President Jim Rutherford. Rutherford said that he - along with GM Patrik Allvin and head coach Bruce Boudreau - was unaware of any setbacks which had befallen Pearson, which sort of makes matters worse.

"At that point, I just started to gather information and talk to people that are involved and start to do an investigation as to what really happened. Other than that, I can't say a whole lot because we're dealing with the privacy of medical information.

We take the situation very seriously. We certainly have to look at everything here when something like this happens, and we're going to continue to do that."

As if the Canucks' organization needed another problem to face, alas they got one. The morale in the locker room has suffered all season long, now players' trust in the team's medical staff has possibly been shaken.

Tough times in Vancouver...
