After months of rumours, we're nearing the official release of Vancouver's 'new' alternate uniform. You may have noticed that the Canucks have not worn their blue and green 'stick in the rink' jerseys this season, well that is because a new full-time alternate is on the way.

On Thursday night on Twitter, an account by the name @LachInTheCrease posted an image from the NHL's International Shop featuring the aforementioned Canucks alternate jersey and as was widely expected, the team is bringing back the famous black skate uniforms, with slight modifications.

There are four differences between this new version and the most recent one worn as a throwback for the final two games of the 2021-22 season. Inside the collar features a mountain range, the collar is now all black, the striping on the arms and bottom of the uniform is thicker and there is no longer white on the inside of the logo.

According to Icethetics, the new uniform will officially be released by the Canucks in the next week or so. As per NHL rules, an alternate uniform can be worn up to 12 times throughout the season.
