Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes had some choice words about Tanner Pearson's injury announced on Thursday. Vancouver sports reporter Rick Dhaliwal hinted that something wasn't quite right about Pearson's recovery, and it appears he was right.

On Pearson's season-ending injury, rehab, Hughes said: "I feel bad for him. I mean, it wasn't handled properly and you know, it's not really a good situation he's got there and hopefully he's going to be alright."

That is quite an incendiary claim to make, especially with regards to the club's medical staff. Hughes may, in fact, have a point though.

Per the Canucks' release, Pearson's recent surgery was his third procedure in the last two months, for an ailment that was initially supposed to sideline him for four weeks.

Now, Pearson is done for the season. The word on the street was that the Canucks were looking to trade Pearson - among others - but that window is now closed as long as he's on the mend.

It's dysfunction junction in Vancouver right now. The team isn't winning, and Bruce Boudreau's job is likely in jeopardy. On Hughes' comments, Boudreau simply said 'I have no idea, that's not my call.'

Yikes.

One has to think that the organization won't love Hughes being so vocally blunt in his assessment of their handling of a teammate's rehabilitation.
