Vancouver Canucks GM Patrik Allvin announced early on Thursday that forward Tanner Pearson will miss the rest of the '22-23 season after a setback in his recovery.
Pearson hasn't played since November 9 after undergoing hand surgery, and Allvin said a second hand surgery was necessary.
In 14 games for Vancouver this season, Pearson has managed 5 points (1g-4a) with a -9 rating. The rumor mill placed Tanner Pearson on the Canucks' trade block, as they are desperate to move salary off their books, but that went out the window with his injury.
The Canucks have been better as of late after their historically poor start, but they are still a lottery team. Pearson's injury doesn't change anything in that regard, but it's one less player they can move for assets.
The Tank Hard for Bedard mantra holds strong for this club as well as about a dozen others.
