The Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League released an update on Thursday on Montreal Canadiens prospect Vinzenz Rohrer after he was taken to hospital on Wednesday night.

"Vinzenz Rohrer underwent a series of evaluations at the hospital and was released late Wednesday night. He is in good spirits and is now resting at home. He will be out indefinitely." The 67's said.

Rohrer was hit during the first period, flipped, went up in the air and landed on his head/neck, laying motionless on the ice. The 18-year-old Austrian needed to be stretchered off and taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. He was able to move his extremities and was able to talk.

The Feldkirk native was a third round pick (75th overall) in the 2022 draft by the Canadiens. In 28 games for the 67's this season, Rohrer has 34 points (12 goals, 22 assists), 12 penalty minutes and is a plus-21.

We'd like to wish Vinzenz a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the ice as soon as it's safe to do so!
