After Team USA's absolute shellacking of Team Germany in Monday's quarterfinal, the Americans are headed to the semi-finals. They won't know their opponents, however, until tonight's game between Canada and Slovakia is concluded.

One play that stood out in Team USA's massive victory was when defenseman Jack Peart (MIN) flattened German forward Nikolas Heigl, causing a turnover:

Peart's phenomenal play at his own blue line set up a beautiful goal for Jackson Blake (CAR), who is the son of retired NHLer, Jason Blake:

The Wild's 2021 second-rounder has 15 points in 20 NCAA games for St. Cloud State so far this season. The left-shot defenseman clearly isn't afraid to play physically as well.

Between Peart and Brock Faber (acquired in the Kevin Fiala trade), the Wild have at least two fine defensive prospects in their pipeline, and we haven't even mentioned 22-year old Calen Addison, who has 16 points in 35 games for Minnesota this season.
