Oilers sign goaltender Stuart Skinner to multi-year contract extension

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek, the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension worth $7.8 million ($2.6 million AAV) with goaltender Stuart Skinner.

Skinner, 24, was drafted by the Oilers in the third round in 2017 and has worked his way up through the organization. He starting down in the ECHL before moving up to the AHL, then to the NHL and is in his first full season with the Oilers.

The contract breakdown for the Edmonton native is as follows:

- Year 1: $2.1 million salary + $200,000 signing bonus.
- Year 2: $2.5 million salary.
- Year 3: $3 million salary.

In 19 games this season, Skinner has a 9-8-1 record with a 2.83 GAA and a .915 save percentage.
