Slovakia names preliminary roster for 2023 World Juniors

Slovakia will head to Atlantic Canada in the coming days as they continue to prepare for the 2023 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.

On Wednesday, Slovakia Hockey announced their 28-man preliminary roster for the tournament, with five cuts needing to be made. Their final roster is expected to be announced on Christmas Day.

Among the notable players on Slovakia's preliminary roster are: New Jersey Devils 2022 second overall pick Simon Nemec, Montreal Canadiens 2022 first-round pick Filip Mesar, New York Rangers 2022 second-round pick Adam Sykora and projected 2023 top-ten pick Dalibor Dvorsky.

Slovakia will play a trio of exhibition games against Germany (Dec. 18th), Canada (Dec. 21st) and Austria (Dec. 23rd). They'll then open the tournament on December 27th against Finland.
