Heads Up - this story may be unsettling for some.

Per Perry Bergson of the Brandon Sun, four Wheat Kings players literally talked a suicidal man off the ledge and helped save his life.
Edmonton Oilers prospect Jake Chiasson along with Calder Anderson, Nolan Ritchie, and Ben Thornton were driving around Brandon, heading home from a Samaritan House event, when they passed a man standing alone on a bridge. It didn't take the boys long to figure out what was happening, at which point they called the police and jumped out of the car to help.
The boys - along with another unidentified individual - stood back from the man. Calder Anderson took the lead in speaking with the man, according to Bergson.
Anderson recounted that the man agreed to speak with him, feeling relieved in the process, as the Wheat Kings forward looked to pull the man from the edge. Inches away from falling, the man opted to stay put out of fear of falling and waited for police.
Bergson reports that a Staff Sgt. with the Brandon Police disclosed that the man was doing fine - all things considered - and received treatment after the fact.
Each of the players, aged 18-20, pulled together to save a man's life, when many others on the very same bridge sped by instead. Despite the Wheat Kings' 8-15-2 record so far this season, this story makes the whole season a success. Saving a man's life is worth more than any number of wins.
