According to a Reddit post on a Vancouver Canucks forum on Sunday afternoon, J.T. Miller's day at a pumpkin patch with his family was disrupted by hecklers.

The Reddit user said that they left Miller alone as they saw he was with his family. Shortly after, however, they noticed what they described as «fans» yelling and making jokes at his expense while his kids were present. This post has quickly blown up, and even got a reaction from Patrick Johnston of the Vancouver Sun.

«There are some people in this town who need to get a grip,» Johnston wrote in a tweet. «It's hockey. Take a deep breath. When a player is with their family, LEAVE THEM ALONE.»

While we don't know for sure whether this happened or not, it unfortunately doesn't seem all that unlikely. In every fanbase, there are some bad apples out there, and that appears to be the case in this situation. Take this as a reminder that if you happen to see an athlete in a public setting with his/her family, respect their privacy and leave them be.
