Vancouver Canucks Forward Set to Return After Preseason Injury
Ilya Mikheyev is expected to suit up for his first game as a Vancouver Canuck tomorrow evening, per Darren Dreger:
Mikheyev signed with the Canucks as a free agent this summer, but the $19 million man was injured after receiving a check from Calgary's Nic Meloche.
Initially, there was grave concern that Mikheyev's injury was severe; like torn-ACL level severe. However, those concerns were assuaged, and the Russian appears ready to go; barring any setbacks.
This is great for the Canucks, who stumbled out of the gate, going 0-2 in their first two stars. Mikheyev should act as a jolt for Vancouver's offense, which has mustered just 5 goals thus far.
