Detroit Red Wings' head coach Derek Lalonde announced today that forward Tyler Bertuzzi will miss the next 4-6 weeks after sustaining an upper-body injury in the team's game against New Jersey Saturday night.

Bertuzzi left the game in the second period after blocking a shot from Devils' defenseman Ryan Graves. The shot hit him in the arm -- I believe the left one, not 100% certain, however -- and he threw his stick in the air, went straight to the bench, and never returned. Safe to say there is some sort of fracture in whichever arm was impacted.

The 'shot-in-the-arm' jokes practically write themselves.

The Wings have started 2022-23 as well as could be expected, going 2-0 with a +6 goal differential through their first two games.

Detroit returns to action Monday (tonight), when they square off against the Los Angeles Kings at home.
