The NHL's waiver wire was fairly light for Thursday, October 13th, with only a pair of players being put on it, one for an AHL assignment and the other for contract termination.

According to Chris Johnston of TSN, those two players are Philadelphia Flyers forward Linus Sandin (contract termination) and Winnipeg Jets forward Dominic Toninato (AHL assignment).

Sandin, 26, is the older brother of Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman, Rasmus Sandin. The Uppsala (Sweden) native spent the majority of the 2021-22 season in the AHL with Lehigh Valley where he put up 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists) in 36 games. Sandin made his NHL debut in January against the New York Islanders.

Toninato, 28, spent nearly all of last season in the NHL with the Winnipeg Jets. In 77 games, the Duluth (Minnesota) native had 14 points (seven goals, seven assists), 22 penalty minutes and was a plus-one.

In addition to the two waiver placements on Thursday, all three players from yesterday, Pierre-Cedric Labrie (Tampa Bay), Scott Harrington (San Jose) and Martin Pospisil (Calgary) have all cleared waivers and have been assigned to their respective AHL clubs.
