After a successful training camp with the Ottawa Senators, Derick Brassard has earned himself a contract for the 2022-23 season. According to Frank Seravalli of DailyFaceoff, the Senators have signed Brassard to a one-year contract worth $750,000.

The Hull (Quebec) native is in his second stint with the Senators after playing with them from 2016 up until the trade deadline in 2018, when he was dealt to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

In four pre-season games, Brassard put up three points (one goal, two assists) and eight shots on goal.

Brassard and the Senators will open up their 2022-23 schedule on Thursday night when they take on the Buffalo Sabres.
