The Anaheim Ducks announced today that forward Trevor Zegras is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, sustained when he was steamrolled by Coyotes' forward Jan Jenik:

Zegras is skating today, but head coach Dallas Eakins has offered no word on his availability for the team's opener on October 12.
The team also announced that defenseman Urho Vaakanainen was released from the hospital and is progressing through his recovery. No word on his timeline for return, but the fact that he is out and about is promising.
Vaakanainen was injured against San Jose, when he fell awkwardly into the boards with speed:
While there is room for skepticism, this is generally positive news for the Ducks. Their star center is merely day-to-day, while their hospitalized defender was released and is free to go about his daily business.
Hopefully, both of these two are back playing sooner than later.
