Defenseman Arber Xhekaj is making a name for himself as one of North American hockey's most intimidating enforcers. During their Prospects Challenge match against Ottawa, Xhekaj dropped the gloves with Sens prospect Zachary Massicotte. Shortly after the fight's commencement, Xhekaj rocked Massicotte with a nasty right cross, and frankly I am amazed Massicotte got up right away.

That was a mean punch by Xhekaj. Habs' fans have been talking him up on social media after the fact, sharing some of his other work in this game. Xhekaj is not new to this; he is, indeed, true to this.

What led up to the above fight, was this hit on Viktor Lodin, 2019 fourth-round pick:

Montreal does have some quality players rising through their ranks, but they also have one mean son of a gun down there too. The 6'4'' Hamilton-native has played 161 games for the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL, scoring 54 points and racking up 265 PIMs.

Xhekaj initially signed a three-year deal with Montreal under former GM Marc Bergevin near the start of the 2021-22 season. He more than likely starts this upcoming season with Belleville, but if he continues to crash & bang his way through pro hockey, he could carve out a niche for himself with the big club.

Regardless, you will not find me on the tracks in front of this freight-train of a human any time soon.
