After getting healthy scratched for their semi-final game against Sweden, Winnipeg Jets prospect Brad Lambert is riding pine again, this time in the gold medal match versus Team Canada. Lambert was, at one point, a top-five rated draft prospect, and he was supposed to be a dominant player for Team Finland. The Finns have still iced a strong group, but you can't feel good about the pick right now if you are Jets' GM Kevin Cheveldayoff.

Lineup for Team Finland v. Canada:

Lambert has only managed one goal in his five tournament games and a -2 rating. Team Finland head coach Antti Pennanen has to go with his best lineup, and clearly that does not include Brad Lambert.

The fact that he fell all the way to #30 told part of the story -- a talented player who may have peaked early -- but getting healthy scratched in not one, but two, critical games for your country does not bode well for the Jets draft pick. Not to say he cannot turn it around and find his stride in the NHL, he certainly could.
