Mike Fisher, husband to country music superstar Carrie Underwood, isn't overly active on social media, so when he does speak out it tends to garner attention.

The couple is very engaged in their community and politics, and Fisher recently urged Tennesseans to vote in an upcoming election in the state's 27th district on August 4th.

"If you are in TN state senate district 27. Vote for my friend @garyhumbleforsenate he will fight for your God given rights and freedoms like no one else!"

The former Nashville Predators' captain is openly against mandates enacted during the COVID pandemic, which is an active component of Humble's platform. Tennessee, traditionally a 'red' or conservative state, is home to the couple, who lives on a 400-acre farm in Franklin, TN, which is ~20 miles from Nashville.

Fisher writes, "The world watched as a group of truckers had the courage to fight back. I watched Gary bring that fight to Tennessee over the last two years to stop unconstitutional mandates and medical tyranny."

He is, of course, referring to the massive convoy of truckers who protested the Canadian government and mandates imposed on the country regarding vaccination status.

Fisher also publicly stated his support for Aaron Rodgers, who became a sort of pariah when he spoke out against vaccine mandates. Though, Rodgers said he was vaccinated when he wasn't, so the 'pariah' thing probably had more to do with that than his status.

In any event, Fisher is staying busy in retirement, engaging in local politics and being married to Carrie Underwood, raising their two kids. Clearly, the retiree is passionate about government and politics, and he is maintaining a presence in the community to fight for his beliefs.
