Before the tournament was cancelled back in December, Austria had a rough couple of games, losing to Finland 7-1 and Canada 11-2. It won't be easier for them this time around, especially without recently drafted players Marco Kasper (Detroit - 1/8) and Vinzenz Rohrer (Montreal - 3/75).

Austria will be in Group B alongside Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States. They've shifted over to Group B due to Russia being banned from IIHF competition and their replacement, Latvia, was placed in Group A. The Groups are made using results the previous tournament (2021) through the serpentine system.

Let's take a look at Austria's roster.
