The Anaheim Ducks announced on Thursday that they have signed Nathan Gaucher to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Gaucher, 18, just recently became a part of the Ducks organization as they selected him with the 22nd pick at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. The young forward is coming off of an impressive season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Quebec Remparts, in which he scored 31 goals and 57 points in 66 games.

On top of Gaucher's great offensive abilities, he is also very good, if not better, when it comes to the defensive side of the game. The 2021-22 season marked the second straight that he finished as a finalist in the QMJHL for the Guy Carbonneau Trophy, an annual award given to the league's best defensive forward. While he is still ways away from being a regular at the NHL level, he has plenty of potential.
